Trinity’s Annual Oyster Roast is always a highlight of the New Year, and this year we’re thrilled to feature the Misty River Band. The band, with it’s old-style performance set-up around a single microphone will entertain during the roast for the second year in a row.
Featuring Trinity’s own Bud Martin on mandolin, the Misty River Band is a locally acclaimed bluegrass ensemble that has carved out a noteworthy spot in a landscape full of artists. Deward Huie (banjo), Teresa Huie (string bass), Dwight Burks (guitar), and Ronnie Moore (guitar) round out the quintet.
The Misty River Band has recorded two albums, Going to the Grove and Pickin’ in the Moonlight. Both are full of tracks spinning good Carolina quips, each with their own local embellishment. Both albums are available for sale on the groups website, www.mrbbluegrass.com.
Last year’s performance was a toe-tapper, and several folks in attendance commented that the group was the best treat of the night.
Be sure to pick up your tickets to the Roast, and don’t miss out on the special treat this ensemble will add. ◊
